This is a very rare figural porcelain pipe made in Germany around 1800. I am not sure if this pipe is late 18th century or early 19th century. This lovely pipe is relatively small, 7 cm. long and 7 cm. tall which suggest possibly late 18th century. The pipe depicts a man with finely painted beard and black floppy hat. The fitments are made of an unidentified metal. Unsure if it is dirty silver, or silver plated brass (probably the latter).
The pipe is in excellent condition, with only minimal wear and a tiny fleabite off the rim.. The lid has a small repair to the hinge.
Take a close look at the photos which are a part of the description. Any damage not mentioned in the text, but visible in the photos are regarded as described.
