Arthur Jones - Dolly reforming herself - Charles Whittingham and co (London) - 1909 - 95 pages - octavo - hardcover - Very good condition
This is the book published for the 100th performance. Dated and signed by Cecil Georges-Bazile who attended the performance. Illustrated.
First edition. Cécil Georges-Bazile, author, translator and French printer who had the privilege of translating the works of Oscar Wilde or H.G. Wells among others.
On the strength of these appreciated translations, Cécil Georges-Bazile never ceased to solicit various English and American authors. An impressive collection of dedications or signed letters from these authors, such as H.G. Wells, for example, was produced and regularly received signed or unwritten presentations in the event of translation. Most of the works are also signed by Cécil Georges-Bazile (see my other auction lots).
