Antimony bust of Christopher Columbus, Genoa 1892

The BartMuzio C. Foundry of Genoa has created this bust to celebrate the fourth centenary of America’s Discovery. This inscription, along with the date 1892, is well engraved on the back side of the bust, as shown in photos. In excellent condition except for a small hole at the base of the neck, not very visible, but it has been photographed at our best and is quite clear. Other than that, the expression is beautiful, almost smiling, a nice bust overall and very elegant too. It should be noted that the material is not bronze, it is antimony instead, or pewter patinated as bronze in little percentage. It weighs approximately 5/7 kg, maximum depth approximately 19 cm, width 26 cm, height 36.50 cm. A sculpture with a certain historical value, in every way! Happy bidding to all of you.
