Good antique condition with minor restoration to finishing slats and varnish
Kalliope from 1903 - Christmas tree standard and Christmas music box.
The Christmas tree standard is constructed of solid oak wood and has brass fittings all around.
The holder in the middle is of gold plated cast iron. This holder spins around when the music box plays.
The music box is a Kalliope mechanism, to be wound with a large key to the front of the box.
After fully winding it plays for a long time, with a sliding knob beneath the mechanism it can be turned off and on. At the music box 14 die-cut iron plates in original box with a.o. Christmas music.
The music box and the mechanism are in used good condition. At the bottom of the music box on both sides two finishing slats replaced/restored, and one of the four bun feet is not original. A few years ago a new coat of varnish was applied.
The photos are a part of the description.
The Christmas tree holder with music box dates around 1903, the origin is Kalliope Musikwerke Leipzig Germany.
