Beautiful preliminary drawing of cute little Pegasus for one of Walt Disney's most famous movies, Fantasia. The movie came out in 1940, so this preliminary drawing is probably from around 1938/39. The artist was most probably the great Walt Kelly (he worked on this particular sequence and it really looks like him). The artwork (done in colored pencils) is on a smaller piece of paper which was originally glued to a larger piece of Disney production paper (ca 25cm x 20cm). The watermark of the paper reads "Management Bond - A Hammermill Product). This was originally acquired through the famous Russ Cochran Comic Art auctions...
