Ford - Escort RS 2000 - 1976

As part of its program called Total Performance, Ford took on all aspects of automobile competition in the 1960s. In addition to its commitment to Formula 1 and endurance, Ford also developed sports versions of its mass-produced models for use in tourism or rallying. This is why after the Cortina was bewitched by Lotus, the Escort had, in turn, experienced a great sports career. To promote this model for wider distribution, numerous special versions would follow one another: Twin Cam, 1300 GT, RS 1600, Mexico, and finally, the RS 2000. This model featured a 2-litre, 4-cylinder Pinto engine with a camshaft at the top. Its standard power is 100 hp. The 1976 model presented here has had several improvements that allow it to be very effective in historical competition, while remaining usable on the open road.
