Very hard fired earthenware. The 3 stilt marks on the inside show that the piece was fired upside down.
Length approx. 19 cm. Height approx. 7 cm. The bowl has the shape of a Greek drinking bowl with curled handles.
Marked on the bottom with the stamped signature PJ.
Paul Jacquet (1883-1968) worked in Annecy where he opened his own workshop in 1918. From 1920 onward, he worked for the Primavera department store and he also started doing work for René Herbst and Francis Jourdain during that time. He then stops making floral motifs and starts to work more with geometric patterns. In the years 1920-1932, his work is exhibited in Paris as a member of the Société des Artistes Décorateurs.
