First Belgian Edition in excellent condition
Poster to promote the appearance of the legendary Laurel & Hardy movie, Air Raid Wardens in Belgium. In French: Chefs D'Ilot, in het Nederlands: Luchtalarm.
Air Raid Wardens was their first film for MGM and came in to the United States in 1943 - in the middle of the second world war. Back in Europe the situation was considered problematic.
This was phased in after the war.
This poster was somewhere from (start of) the 1960s and as far as we have been able to find out it was the first (and only?) time Air Raid Wardens was released in Belgian cinemas and therefore for the Belgian market it was the first and the original version.
The poster is in the standard Belgian format with a wide white border (at the top) where the cinema could mention its program information.
It is a lithograph of old world quality with great depth and detail.
Printed by Edicolor Brussels.
Edition of Metro Goldwyn Mayer.
54.9 x 36.6 cm
Maintained in excellent condition. Has never been hung.
Partly due to the high print quality: the colours are fantastic!
In addition a “schoon” poster without any cinema information.
Mild signs of handling at the edges but no damage.
Please see photos for further details.
