Engraver: Georges Reverdy (printmaker; French; 1529 fl. - 1564/5 died)
Also known as: Reverdinus, Cesare; Reverdino, Gaspar
Engraver. Probably of origins in Piedmont, documented in Lyons from 1529 to 1565, in the last of which he is described as dead. Since his last dated print is from 1564, he probably died the previous year. Wrongly catalogued by Bartsch as an Italian engraver.
Bartsch XV pp.465-91 (39 nos, plus 12 doubtful)

Publisher: Giovanni Orlandi (publisher/printer; printmaker; Italian; fl.1590 - 1640)
Also known as: Orlandi, Joanes; Orlandi, Ioan
Engraver, printer and print publisher from Bologna. Active in Rome from c.1590 until 1613 and then in Naples. His shop in Rome was at the Pasquino. He also seems to have been a dealer in drawings (Lanfranconi; also Bertolotti, 1881). In 1608 he was employing a printer, G.B. Ranieri (Bertolotti, 1885). He bought existing plates from Iohannes Statius, Cherubino Alberti and Nicolas van Aelst. Orlandi acquired plates of Vignola's Regola delli Cinque Ordini d'Architettura which he published in 1602 (Walcher Casotti). Orlandi does not seem to have built up a stock of plates, but, having taken from them what he could, sold them on. Van Aelst bought plates from Orlandi, as for example the 12 Prophets and 10 Sibyls of Schiaminossi. In 1609 Orlandi is reported as regretting having sold 4 small etched plates by Annibale Carracci, after having taken 400 impressions from them (Maccherini).
