The new features are mainly aesthetic: the most noticeable is the reversal of the way doors opened, which were now hinged with 8 bolts per door. This feature, which gave the car its name, “otto bulloni”, was present the first 500 Fs from March 1965 to January 1966, when the hinges became the classic ones with 4 bolts per door. The 8-bolt version is very sought after today, since it was “only” manufactured for 10 months.
