Beautifully painted terracotta sculpture of Nefertiti. This sculpture had some damage marks and was repainted with oil paint and decorated with gold leaf. The original is one of the most beautiful and intriguing busts in history: that of Nefertiti, Queen of Egypt and the wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten (18th Dynasty, ca. 1370 B C - ca. 1330 B C) After the death of Akhenaten she may have been pharaoh until her nephew, the famous Tutankhamun, took over the throne. The bust was made around 1345 B C by the sculptor Thutmose. This replica is also seen in @rijksmuseumvanoudheden in Leiden. The original is in the Neues Museum in Berlin.
