In good complete and working condition
Beautifully forged chest lock with to the locking bracket two hammered marks depicting a castle with 3 towers.
These 2 marks are probably the hallmark of a (weapon) blacksmith, this mark particularly looks like the coat of arms of Castile and also appears in the coat of arms of Spain.
In order to be able to secure the lock to the front of a chest it has 2 beautiful u-shaped brackets that can be folded at the end.
For a lock of this age it is in complete and good working condition and has a nice age patina, the key is of later date, one end of a bracket has a broken off tip and the end of the strip with which the locking bracket needs to be secured is missing a piece of the tip.
