DESCRIPTION
Fiat 850 Spider first series, elegant and small cabriolet completing the range of the Fiat 850 cars of the time: colourful, lively and aimed at young customers, it was a commercial success both in Italy and in Europe as well as in the U.S., which earned it the nickname of ‘Little Ferrari’ on U.S. ground.
Conceived, designed and assembled by Bertone (father of the famous Corvair and Alfa Romeo 2600, from which it draws inspiration) and designed by Giugiaro, it has a front lighting similar to the prestigious Lamborghini Miura.
This prestigious and sought-after ‘first series’ cabriolet version, had 2 previous owners and was has always been driven in Italy, never on snow or ice. The racing red original bodywork, has been completely restored in 2012 and is still in excellent condition, with gleaming chrome. The beautiful interior is new and in black leather, as well as the panels, the dashboard and carpets.
The vehicle is completely rust free and the bottom is original and intact, as shown in pictures. The small and very powerful 850 cc engine with 4-speed manual transmission is a real mechanical jewel. Despite the car run a few kilometres (15,000 km), maintenance has always been regular and it has a valid revision until August 2019.
A rare piece of history and Italian design we all should have respect for.
This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Controguerra, Italy.
