925/1000 Hallmarked Silver
For offer, 5 x English Sterling Silver Hallmark lidded, glass perfume bottles and dressing table jars, dated 1884 - 1922:
1. A pair of Victorian 1884, matched, London hallmarked sterling silver lidded, dressing table jars, manufactured by William Thomas Wright & Frederick Davies (W.W. & F.D.) and retailed by Halstaff & Hannaford, of 228 Regent Street, London.
The glass jars are of a fluted body design, with cut star pattern to the base, and stand 10.3cm (4 1/8") high, including lids, with a diameter of 5cm (2").
Condition is very good, with usage dents to lids, and some flea bites to the glass, but nothing major or noticeable, with identical monogrammed initials to the cartouche.
2. A pair of 1911, none matched, London hallmarked sterling silver lidded, perfume bottles, both with screw tops.
The glass bodies are of a fluted and facetted design, with plain bases, standing 9cm - 9.5cm (3 1/2" - 3 3/4") high, including screw tops, 4 - 4.2cm (1 5/8") width and 3cm (1 1/4") depth.
Condition is very good, with minor dent to lids, and both have engraved monogrammed initials.
3. A 1922, Birmingham hallmarked sterling silver lidded, dressing table jar, made by W G Sothers Ltd (W.G.S Ltd) of Birmingham.
The glass body is delicately cut/engraved with a floral design, which encircles the full circumference of the body, and star cut pattern to the underside base, with a height of 7.6cm (3") including lid, and a diameter of 6.5cm (2 .5")
Condition is excellent, with minor usage marks, and blank cartouche.
