Japanese koshirae for wakizashi. Made in Japan in 18th/19th century. This a a good quality item in not perfect condition. Best part of this koshirae is fuchigashira with sleeping Buddha. Set of kozuka and menuki with almost exactly same sleeping Buddha motive is now on exhibition in Nezu Museum in Tokyo.
Tsuba is an iron sukashi with wild goose design.
Saya is dark brown with a bit of red coming out. This effect is made with putting many layers of different color urushi.
