Scale metal model entirely handmade and hand-painted of the half-track Citroën Kégresse C4 type P17 of the “Croisière Jaune Citroën”. Beautiful tinware craftsmanship designed from soft steel plate cut, formed and assembled by electric welding points. All four wheels and the front winch are rotating, the caterpillar tracks are static. The two flags set on the windshield’s edges are mobile. Many details and accessories adorn this object for decoration and display. For the attention of collectors of the Citroën brand: large and beautifully made, very rare object. Dimensions of the model (car + trailer): Length: 47 cm. Width: 12.5 cm. Height: 13.5 cm. Historical background: The “Croisière Jaune”, which took place from April 4th, 1931 to February 12th, 1932, also known as the “Center-Asia mission” or "3rd mission G.M. Haardt - Audouin - Dubreuil", is one of the motor raids organized by André Citroen. More specifically, this was his third motorized expedition, the first being the crossing of the Sahara and the second, the black cruise. This expedition had a marketing purpose, but also a scientific one. It consisted of 2 groups, the "China" group starting from Tientsin and the "Pamir" group starting from Beirut, who travelled in order to meet each other across the Asian continent. The "Pamir" group consisted of 7 half-track Citroën-Kegresse (6 Type P17 and 1 Type P14 equipped with a radio), that had to travel from Beirut to Beijing. Which meant a route of more than 12,000 kilometres including the crossing of the Burzhil pass in the Himalayas higher than 4,000 m on mule driver trails. This model represents the "Scarabée d'Or", the lead vehicle of Georges-Marie Haardt and Louis Audoin-Dubreuil. It's a half-track Citroën-Kegresse C4 type P17 fitted with the Kégresse-Hinstin track driven system. Its Duralumin body can host 5 people, and its engine is ain line 4 cylinder 30 hp. The “Croisière Jaune” is one of the most beautiful expeditions of the Citroën story and one of the largest automotive achievement of the 20th century.
