Large etching in exceptional print quality

Title of artwork: itinerant circus artists in a landscape - Ca 1660

Exceptional good impression. With nice plate tone on laid paper. In a full sheet with margins. Plate border outside the sheet at the bottom.
A printing quality with such exceptional tonality and detail can only be found on early impressions, here in the series as published by Pierre Mariette (1626 - 1696)

From a small series of prints showing a merry group of strolling and playing people.
Etching with production detail cut. (signed on another one from the group I have) : 'Perelle Inv. fe', and publication line: 'Mariette excudit cum privilegio.

Gabriel Perelle ( Vernon-sur-seine 1603 - Paris 1677.)
Painter and engraver. Son of a farmer, discovered by the "Seignieur" where he was servant. Later worked with Simon Vouet. He worked after the good contemporain French artists but kept a very personal touch.
