Since 1890s. Made in London since the 1930s. Max Wiseman & Co was founded in 1898 in Rathenow, Germany. In 1932 they opened the Algha factory in the historic East End of London. The factory in Algha helped develop many world-class makers who strived to make handmade glasses of the highest quality. During the last 83 years the factory has made frames for some of the most iconic people wearing glasses in the world, from John Lennon, Harry Potter for Daniel Radcliffe and for stars and characters from the world of film, including Denzle Washington, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery and Ben Kinsley as Gandhi, to name a few.
