This is a hand-knotted Qom carpet, made of durable, natural materials.
Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise the authentic and traditional character.
Qom (or Qum) is the second holy city of Iran and is located south-west of Tehran.
The patterns are very diverse (floral patterns, design with garden decoration and animals, repetitive designs).
Qom carpets are durable carpets made of high-quality wool or silk (or mixtures of these), often with a rich shine on a cotton warp (bobbin thread), often finely knotted and with a rich shine.
They are good rugs for daily use, with a high durability.
This is a used carpet, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
