Alessandro Mendini for Ramun - table lamp Amuleto Mini Trinity Opaque

The Amuleto lamp is the first lamp in a series of led light fixtures that Alessandro Mendini designed for the Ramun lighting brand. Mendini chose the different primary colours for the rings to add a powerful expression to the ergonomic design. The bottom circle is the base, the central one is the joint and the top circle forms the light crown of led lights, like a halo. The three rings refer to the earth (blue), the sun (red) and the moon (yellow). Mendini designed the Amuleto to wish his grandson health and happiness. The name and the matching logo of the Ramun brand are derived from Amon-Ra, the sun god in ancient Egypt. The graphic depiction of Amon-Ra - an eye - was used as a lucky charm and protective amulet. The logo is a stylised version of this image and it refers to Ramun's promise to "offer high-quality lighting that protect the eyes which are constantly under stress due to new types of digital media", say studio Mendini. To direct the light to the desired spot, the part of the light fixture can be adjusted separately, by means of a patented mechanism. This rotating mechanism frees the light from loose wiring and springs, which enforces the design of the lamp. The material which the lamp is made of is polycarbonate. The diameter of the base, the largest circle, is 17 cm; the diameter of the red and the yellow circles is 12 cm. The length of the two black arms 24.5 cm each. There is a dimmer on the base of the lamp, which allows you to adjust the intensity of the light as needed. The lamp is in perfect condition, it has no signs of wear whatsoever. I purchased this lamp in a museum shop, because I instantly fell in love with it. Unfortunately it didn't match the rest of my interior as well in reality.
