Yamaha - XV 920 - Virago - 920 cc - 1982

Yamaha XV 920 Virago without reserve price. This Yamaha has not been used for years and is in good condition if you're counting to its age. The motorbike was parked in a dry barn. On both fenders is slight rust formation, which you almost don't see, but if you touch it, then you feel it. The inner fork legs are free of rust. The seal ring of the left leg is leaking. I recommend to replace both seals. The saddle is completely undamaged and the lining is original without cracks. The fuel tank is on the inside free of rust. The battery needs replacing. This also goes for the handle rubbers. I have tried starting the engine with a starter battery, but that didn't work. It came no further than making ' thud ' sounds but it didn't really catch on . At opening gas cap came a very dirty air from the tank. The gasoline is totally wrecked. I am convinced that if the old gasoline is replaced and the carburettors are cleaned, the engine is running. For it was put away in running condition. The starter motor is running around well. The frame and engine block belong together and have the same numbers. The engine originally comes from the USA, hence the miles counter. For the hobbyist, this is a wonderful project and also remember that the old chopper motorcycles the last few year increase in value. New ones are (almost) no longer produced. The engine is also highly suitable for converting to a café racer or flattracker. I have, for inspiration, added 3 photos of 'Pipeburn'. The other pictures give a fair picture of the state of the engine. Both carter lids are not chrome plated and therefore easy to polish to high gloss. This is a nice project for someone with two right hands. The engine can be delivered by a carrier at cost. The export papers I can take care of. For the moment, the motorbike has a valid Dutch registration.
