934/1000, 18,5 cm, 51 gr, Good condition, commensurate with age, needs a clean
Dutch silver dessert spoon, probably late 18th century from Gravenhage, The Netherlands. The spoon is 18.5cm long and weighs 51 grams. The spoon has an upturned handle with threading around the edges, front and back. The spoon has a very worn monogram on the handle back as shown. The spoon bears five marks, three of which are relatively clear. The two in the center have a rampant lion and a stork, marks used in the town of Gravenhage in the 18th century. The other clear mark looks like the crowned shield used as a Dutch import mark. The other two marks are too worn to read.
Condition on the spoon is good, commensuate with age. The handle is very worn, with the pattern almost disappearing at the center of the stem. The bowl tip has some wear but retains its shape. It has a nice even patina of age.
