In 1955 it was all grey in Europe up until 1955 when Citroën introduced the revolutionary DS19 at the Autosalon de Paris. People thought an UFO had landed and also the colour setting was unheard of. A cream with aubergine roof, a green with champagne colour roof and then all the hydraulic novelties... In two days time the Citroen had 80,000 signed orders. Never shown and never seen all novelties in one model. Problem: the car was not finished yet...
Thanks to a spy photo of L’Auto Journal there was no Traction sold anymore and they had to bring the DS19 to the 1955 Paris Autosalon. The cars were brought with a truck and pushed in.
But after a year it went better and the success had really begun. An icon was created..

This Green Vert Printemps (Spring Green) DS19 from 1956 was an outright hit. Away with the grey, Hello colour!

This NoreV DS19 model of almost 45 cm long is a perfect copy of the original. Including booklet and mint in the box
