Wonderful antique Caucasian Karabagh rug. Origin: village of Karabagh, located near the South-Western shore of the Caspian sea and the region of the same name including the southern area of Azerbaijan. Production method: woollen warp and weft for the ancient rugs, wool or cotton for those produced between 1850 and 1930, and 100% cotton for the modern production. The pile is always in close-cut wool. Modern production generally features a higher number of knots compared to the older and ancient rugs. This has been kept well and is in perfect condition. Extra fine and very soft. Dimensions: 302 x 112 cm. Rare carpet from a private collection, featuring a bright antique red colour. From a private collection. With certificate of authenticity.
