Lot with 39 Delftware KLM Business Class tiles

These tiles were made on commission of KLM by Regina Plateel. The first tiles issued by KLM date back to the 1970s. They were issued in small plastic boxes, together with chocolates by A. Driessen from Breda. From 1981 to 1993, the tiles were given as a gift to KLM business class travellers. Most tiles are reproductions of old Dutch tiles, depicting Dutch facades, old windmills, Dutch games, occupations, ships etc. The sizes of the tiles are 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm. The tiles are in good to very good condition. This is a total of 39 tiles. Two tiles are still in their original packaging. The back of the tiles is finished with soft blue felt with KLM logo (see, among others, photo 6). Tile 10 and 11 of the first series miss a speck of glazing. See photos 7 and 8. De dokter en de hoofdmeester en het draaiorgel; 06. De lagere school; 07. Het huis van de notaris; 09. De ambtenaar en koopman; 10. pakhuis “de drie gebroeders” te Zaandam; 11.
