|Period:||20th - mid (WW II)|
Roman GLADIUS for the CROSS awarded for SENORITY in the NATIONAL SECURITY VOLUNTARY MILITIA (MVSN).
(IT WAS ALSO APPLIED ON FABRIC INSIGNIA)
The cross for seniority was created with Royal Decree 23.01.1933 no. 8, in a single rank for officers, NCOs and soldiers for 10 years of service in the M.V.S.N.;
PLEASE NOTE: the bipartite handle of the gladius features two stylised fascist emblems in each half! The gladius was applied on chest ribbons, but it was usually also mounted on the ribbon of the cross (this use is widely documented by many vintage photos, easily available through a web search).
Absolutely original, 1930s.
Length: 32 mm, hooks on the back,
excellent condition, perfect as shown in photos.
