This auction is for a 1965 Sony Solid State Sonymatic Monophonic reel to reel tape recorder Model TC-105, the 2-head, single motor tape deck that SONY offered as a rugged top-notch portable with many professional features.
 There is a 10 watt solid-state amplifier and built-in speaker for on the spot playback or as a portable Public Address (P.A. System).
 You can connect the unit to your home stereo receiver or computer sound card by using a 1/8" mini phone plug to RCA cable to transfer mono reel tapes..This unit operates in the horizontal position and has THREE speeds (7 ½ , 3 ¾ and 1 7/8 ips). It also features auto-stop at the end of the tape. 

The built-in VU meter is activated when the unit is in the manual record mode and is also used for a power indicator by illuminating when the power is on. Sonymatic recordings can be done in the "Auto" mode or manually by selecting the manual mode, which changes the color in the record window from blue to red, see photos.
