Rare dagger, trench art made of a piece of exploded grenade during the so-called 'Winterstellung', the proposition behind the Somme and the Croyat channel.
The handle and the blade are made from one piece of steel from a grenade head, the handle shows the fragmented grenade pieces, and there is an inscription visible that says 'WINTERSTELLUNG 1916 SOMME 1917'
The knife was found in the estate of a lady from Düsseldorf whose father was a soldier at the front during the first world war and fought in the battle of the Somme.
Unique war relic that is very rare and unique in its kind.
