Septarian is the key for purity and self-confidence. The Septarian is a type of Calcite variety. The Septarian is instantly recognizable by its brown colour with its beautiful inclusions, which are often star-shaped.

Sites of the Septarian are Utah, Arizona and Madagascar.

Septarian is a spherical or oval, isolated form from formations of sedimentary rocks. Septarian Concretions are closely linked to tubers. Tubers have a rounded structure and occur individually. A concretion, on the other hand, is usually a mass of a number of tubers.

Septarian Concretions formed through diagenesis, a process in which heat and pressure change a rock, but not as big as metamorphosis. Most concretions are found in limestone and chalk.

Also clay-iron stone is a rich source for concretions. It can happen that some concretions come to the surface (rocky outcropping). In these concretions fossils can have formed, which have remained intact through the diagenesis. Besides fossils one sometimes finds agate.

Septarian is also known as the Dragon stone.
