His subjects are still lifes, portraits, landscapes and city scapes. He was self-taught and worked as a painter in the style of the Hague School. He was taught by Henri F.Boot. He was a founding member of art circle de Acht, Member (board member and later honorary member) of K.Z.O.D. (Kunst Zij Ons Doel), B.B.K. 1969.
