The seller of this lot guarantees that this object was obtained legally. The object comes from the estate of the late William van Harreveld. Between 1974 and 1978 Van Harreveld worked as a civil engineer for the Dutch Economic Institute and the Colombian Ministry of Public Works in Colombia. In the period 1976-1978 Van Harreveld built a collection of Pre-Columbian pottery and lawfully bought Pre-Columbian artefacts in Bogota, Colombia. When Van Harreveld and his family returned to the Netherlands in 1978, the collection was legally exported to the Netherlands.
