Very nicely painted work, oil paint on canvas, depicting a winter landscape in moonlight. The peaceful nightly silence can almost be felt. The only light is coming from the moon. Nightly depictions are very difficult to paint and here it is magnificently shown by the Belgian artist Alidor Lamote (1880 - 1949). Lamote enjoyed the top of his fame during the interwar period, his substantial body of work consists mainly of landscapes and portraits. This large painting measures no less than 130 x 104 cm and can therefore only be picked-up. Please take this into account. Please make an appointment for the pick-up given its size. Shipping costs are irrelevant. The work dates back to ca. 1925. It is in good condition, with only a few minimal signs of age and it is in a nice wooden frame.
