very ancient Bombolo (water jug) used in ancient times by masons and workers when they went to work - the hole seen in the vase was made by the workers to get the water out and drink without leaning on the vase. as photos - about 1850/1870 -
note the processing of the cylinder with scratches that authenticate the age of the bomb. today they are made all smooth without scratches.
