Wonderful hardwood Barong and Garuda statue - Bali - Indonesia - second half 20th century
Detailed and very finely carved hardwood Barong figurine. 1960s,
Made of hardwood and entirely pristine. Wonderful figurine full of expression. The nice thing about this figurine is that you can see that there are two people underneath the Barong costume. The legs of the Barong are human legs.
Measurements: 23 cm high, 17 cm long and 9 cm deep.
Weighs approx. 1.5 kg.
Complex, detailed and very finely carved statue of Garuda and Rama. Mid 20th century
A lovely, large coromandel wood statue depicting Prince Rama on Garuda.
Garuda is standing on a writhing dragon with its wings spread wide, raised tail and feathers.
The statue barely has any signs of wear. Please note: It is in good condition, but does have damage in some places (not conspicuous or serious). This is mostly on the feathers in the crown of the statue. See the photos to judge the quality.
This Garuda looks very imposing and was carved with great detail. In this Garuda all expected elements are featured: Garuda, Vishnu, the snakes and the turtle are present. This makes this Garuda very special, a true collector's item.
The height of the statue is 40 cm and it weighs over 2 kg.
Each cut out of one piece of wood. The type of wood is a type of tropical hardwood. The whole piece has been sanded and has a smooth finish. It is in very good and undamaged condition and it has beautiful wood texture. The photos show the beautiful condition the item is in.
