Beautiful model of the French ship made of wood and fabrics
I am selling this beautiful model of the three mats ship, the Belem, in good condition. Just a small mark on the back (please look at the picture with my finger).
The Belem is a Museum, they say. Even better, a living museum, since it sails.
A school of the sea:
The Belem Foundation decided in 1980 that the Belem would go back to sea and it would be a civil sailing school ship open to the public. In 30 years, the ship embarked 35,000 sailors. It is the oldest sailing yacht in the world to host public navigation.
A historical monument:
He was one of the first ships to be a historical monument in France (1984). Nowadays, the Foundation multiplies the stopovers of the Belem in harbours to accommodate visitors. In 2016, 30,000 people visited the three-masted ship.
The Belem, sole survivor of the tall ships of the 19th century, represents France and its maritime traditions for tall ships gatherings and events abroad.
