Peugeot - 504 Coupé - 1974
A rare restoration project, these very early Peugeot 504 C14 coupé from 1974. This was, or is after a thorough restoration, a fantastic and elegant vehicle.
A thorough "body-off” restoration is commercially speaking very feasible. They can easily sell for 25k once they’re in A condition (source: Yearbook 2017), you will not go wrong with this sort of asking price. You need to know what you are doing, they’re not known to be simple in terms of mechanics and build of the body. But once you’ve done it, you’ll have a great second (or third) car for life, or an appealing, sought after car to sell.
The car: what you see is what you get: a good basis for a restoration. Or, a rich (potentially profitable) source of parts, mechanical, electrical and sheet metal parts.
The engine starts and runs well. The automatic gearbox shifts fine. Both deserve a revision depending on your destination. The sheet metal requires a lot of work, as well as the underneath and the bottom. The electrics work well but also need a big facelift.
The interior shows a 44-year-old car. This also needs a total makeover, but it is worth it!
The vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. We always recommend this so you, as a serious bidder, know what you’re buying. We strive to give you as clear a picture as possible with many photos and extensive text, describing the condition of the vehicle. But vintage vehicles are often 25 to over 60 years old, we don’t have x-ray vision and may have missed something. We can take care of transport to EU countries at cost price through specialised transport companies. You can also use Marlog in Roosendaal which Catawiki advertises on its website.
