Beautiful and well working phonograph model Q of Columbia. The sound carrier is a wax cylinder in which about 2 minutes of sound has been engraved. The reproducer follows the grooves in the roll and amplified via the horn. The drive goes through a wound up spring inside (clockwork principle or spring engine). A beautiful piece of technique. The spring engine in combination with a centrifugal regulator provide a more or less constant speed. The speed itself can be arranged by means of a setscrew that provides more or less friction. The reproducer and horn have been renewed. A matching wax roll is included.
