Wonderful Art Nouveau glass Emile Gallé ( 1806 - 1904 ) Bonbonnière Beautiful floral design with elegant lines Authentic and beautiful glass Bonbonnière with lid Made of multi-layered acid-etched glass, decorated with leafs and flowers colours: dark blue - mauve on bright green base Both the lid and the jar are signed “Gallé” Late 19th century Circa 1900, Nancy, France Very beautiful model ! In excellent condition excepts for one tiny chip on the edge of the bottom of the lid Nothing bad and hardly visible, see the photos on which it is show with pen Some non notable scratches on the bottom Otherwise it is in excellent condition ! Height: 5.5 cm Diameter: 13 cm Numbered: 15 Specialists distinguish five Gallé-periods: the first period is the “transparent” period, from 1874 to 1884, with transparent glass and barely visible, sometimes non-existent signatures This period was followed by the “Opaque” period from 1884 to 1890 inspired by plants and recognisable by its thick glass pasta and exuberant signatures The "Arabesque" - period from 1890 too 1893 showed a simpler decor of flowers, animals or Japanese landscapes with opal glass. Unique models were madenext to mass production Items form the first category were signed by hand, the second ones have acid-formed initials, the same as the the word “Cristallerie” When Gallé died in 1904, the production increased while creations almost didn’t exist Eventually the factory, which was taken over by family, started with mass production in 193, recognisable by a signature accompanied by a cross Will be carefully packaged and sent by insured and registered mail Please feel free to take a look at my other offers
