Carlo Santi

A beautiful very large Chinese porcelain dish, dating from the 16th /17th century, Ming dynasty (1368-1644). In the centre, the dish has a decoration of a jumping fish in a fiery sky. Around this a circle decoration in red and blue. In the edge a corresponding decoration of five fish, surrounded by water plants. Around that an edge of red and blue/green with geometrical patterns. The back is beautifully glazed, but not decorated. The dish stands on a high foot-rim, covered with lots of kyln sand, originally from the baking oven.

Condition: the dish has a repaired shard with a smaller shard inside it and a small chip on the edge; otherwise pristine. The decoration is still beautifully intact.
Diameter: 37.8 centimeters.
Shipping method: the lot is sold without the depicted stand. It will be packaged with care and shipped insured. If you purchase multiple lots from me in this auction, you will only pay shipping costs once for shipping abroad.
