G J Ernens (1935) - landschap

Truly beautiful work by the artist G.J. Ernens. The painting is made with thickly applied paint and made in nice, warm autumn colours. It is in decent and clean condition. The canvas measures 50 x 60 cm. It is in a matching, nice frame with the dimensions 64 x 74 cm. It originally comes from an art dealership. Certainly a nice work by this painter. Gerardus Johannes Ernens, born 4 March 1935 in Utrecht. The artist already showed his skills at a young age and developed into a painter with a completely own style. He met the painter J. Bevort when he was young, who helped him with the development of his talents. After bevort, he collaborated for a while with the interiors and church painter Jan Jumelet. Ernens became renowned for his colourful, somewhat suggestive and relief-like landscapes and flower compositions. His work was exposed on many occasions and Gerard Ernens is a member of the International Organization of Free Art. Gerard is a painter using the palette knife from the early days. His paintings have a light impressionist tendency, though are still clearly recognizable. One small spot has been restored, see photo.
