Beautifully tooled busts carved from 1 piece of ebony, from the former Belgian colony the Congo This sculpture represents a male bust of the Mangbetu tribe. These kind of statues were brought to Belgium around 1935 shortly before the war, by early colonials and were carved on commission in the Congo.
