In good condition
Rare very finely carved tusk in Antique ivory. The picture shows a tree of life see with village scenes.
The tusk is in good condition for its age, little bit yellowed and some desiccation cracks.
In earlier times, in the beginning of the 20th century, during the colonial period, commercial travellers and missionaries brought back ivory from the former Belgian colony, Congo, in Equatorial Africa. They were mostly carved with African designs.
Dimensions: height approx. 27 cm, weight 300 grams.
The provider guarantees that this is antique ivory, crafted before 1947, thus, permitted under CITES regulations. The piece will come with a signed declaration from the Ruyten appraisal office, signed by appraiser Jan Willem Ruyten. Will be sent by registered mail only within Europe.
