This is a hand-knotted Kerman rug, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and artisanal character.
Kerman (or Kirman) is located in the south-east of Iran, bordering a desert.
Kerman rugs can be recognised by a centrally placed medallion and a wide border filled with flowers, made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp. The base colour is often red.
A Kerman is an excellent rug for regular use, with high durability.
This is a used rug that has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
Size: Approx. 308 x 206 cm.
Main colour: Brick.
Accent colours: Cream, green, red and shades of blue.
Special features: Beautiful shine; rich abrash (natural colour variations).
Signs of wear: Fringe is in lesser condition, and there's old moth damage (photo 14).
