1968, Paris - France

Maria Pergay - Uginox for Ugine-Gueugnon - High stainless steel floor lamp
1968, Paris - France

In excellent condition, a unique and special stainless steel floor lamp from the 1960s, a design by the French furniture designer Maria Pergay.
In the last series of photographs two photographs can be seen of Maria Pergay and the French (fashion) designer Pierre Cardin with whom she worked together for years.
This is a slightly later version of the lamp then which is generally known, where the cord enters the top of the lamp. This slightly later version lets the solution of the cord through the block to the inside of the lamp and that is brilliant.

Height: 160 cm Hood height 24.5 cm Shade diameter is 11 cm. Foot diameter 25 cm.
Weight: 7 kg.
Light source: max. 100W light bulb is included.

It is simple to adjust the lamp to different heights.

Background information:
The Parisian-based furniture designer Maria Pergay (born 1930, now 87 years old) is known for her innovative use of stainless steel, a passion ignited in the 1960s and continued up until the 1980s.

She received a project involving the use of steel, and thus started Pergay's creations of iconic stainless steel furniture, with her first collection containing among other things the famous Flying Carpet daybed (1968) and the Ring chair (1970).

Pergay proceeded with designing palace interiors for the royal household of Saudi Arabia, as well as furniture for the furniture designer Pierre Cardin (see the last photo series), while continuously developing her stainless steel designs further and further, also adding varnish, wood and mother of pearl.

Condition corresponds to age and (very careful) use. This stainless steel floor lamp has some very slight scratches on the hood and 1 slight piece of damage along the edge of the hood; look closely at all the detailed photos to get a good impression of this beautiful floor lamp.

Originally with white foot switch, i personally found the black nicer, you get both.
With galvanised plug.
Everything in excellent working condition.

My preference is pick-up, seeing as the lamp is fragile. But after discussion post is also possible with extra costs.

Mooie lamp, snelle verzending, maar de zelfgemaakte muurbevestiging van blik was toch echt te slap.
