In good condition - Iron and leather
This rare officer’s sabre from the Napoleonic era has a richly decorated brass bracket hilt and leather grip.
On both sides on the shield a depiction of crossed cannon barrels against a background of laurels.
The blade is cut to one side, slightly curved, and has a beak point.
The associated iron sheath has two wear rings that are confirmed to beautiful decorated brass mountings.
This type of sabre was based on the common model AN XI used by the light cavalry. (Chasseurs)
A fantastic Napoleonic sabre carried by a high-ranking officer of the artillery ('officer supérieur d'Artillerie’).
The length of the sabre is 89.5 cm. (measured in the sheath this becomes 95.5 cm.).
Its condition is (very) good for its age (the blade, however, has a truncated point of max. 5 cm).
