An impressive large print ( 50 cm!) on laid paper with plate border and full one cm margins.Large prints are vulnerable but this one is good with only some minor foxing and a couple of rubbed area's in the margin.
The interceding mother, after Schenau: humble interior with man standing on the right, holding a birch which he intend to use on his two misbehaving children; his wife sits at centre and pleads with him, her hands clasped; one of their children, a girl, has wrapped herself in her mother's apron while her older brother looks on, his face partly hidden behind a book. 1767
Print made and published by: Claude Augustin Duflos
After: Johann Eleazar Schenau (1737-1806)
