This Hudson 8 Convertible Coupé first saw the light of life in 1934. This is number 62 of 580 units built. The first owner was a Belgian doctor who imported it from America to Belgium in 1934. The doctor owned the car his whole life and restored the car in the interim. The car survived World War 2 in a barn, hiding under hay bales. A nice detail is the brown leather bench(es) which have never been reupholstered, they’re factory-original. Talk about quality!

Just after the restoration was completed the doctor became ill and died. The car went to his children. After the death of the doctor the restored car spent 3 to 5 years in a garage.
Due to standing still for a long time, the engine got stuck, the son-in-law (an engineer) revised the cylinders and fitted new pistons. After this revision, the car was sold to a dealer who sold it on to the current owner.

The current owner has renewed a lot to the car (invoices available). The most important changes are:

-Transmission overhaul (2 kilometres driven since then)
-Convertible soft top
-Bumpers (original)
-Tyres
-Brakes
-Most of the wiring harness
-Water pump
-Battery
-Ignition
-Fuel tank, sensor and pipes

In short, a great car that draws a lot of attention. With the current low interest rates, this rare car becomes a fantastic investment object, which you can also can drive.

The car is complete with full documentation, even the original purchase receipt from 1934 is included (not all documentation is photographed!).

The car is in a dry, well insulated shed under a neat cover. Despite the many photos, the car does have age-related signs of wear and tear, which sometimes are not very visible in the photos.
