Black cast iron coffee grinder, Spong & Co Ltd No 1. - England - ca. 1960

This magnificent black cast-iron coffee grinder is made by the firm Spong & Co. Ltd. This firm was founded in 1856 in England by the then 16-year old James Osborn Spong. In the early years, other devices were developed and from 1895 onwards coffee grinders were made. They made a total of 4 types of coffee grinders: no. 1, 2, 3 and 4. This no. 1 is in good condition and still works. Including original cast iron table clamp. With a coffee grinder you can grind your own coffee beans by hand. Handmade coffee is much fresher than when you buy it pre-ground. The coffee grinder is also ideal for mixing and grinding spices! Size: 20 cm high (without clamp), 13 cm wide (20 cm including handle). This lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by registered and insured mail (with track and trace code). Pick up is, of course, also possible.
