The production began in 1959. These cars quickly got the nickname "Flosse" or "Heckflosse". In English-speaking countries they are known under the nickname "Finnie". The tail fins were, compared to their American contemporaries, more harmonious and according to Mercedes’ corner markings, these were useful when parallel parking. The body design comes from the team of the then head designer Karl Wilfert. This model is new. The original transport straps are still around it. The bag with the roof has never been opened and apart from the roof there is also a spare Mercedes Star in it. An absolute asset in a collection.
