This is a remarkable work by a remarkable engraver. Van Vliet was only a limited time active probably due to psychical problems in his later life. He was a collaborator of his contemporary Rembrandt and especially in this series of beggars his work is hardly to separate from the work of the great master. This print from 1632 is very near to what Rembrandt made in the same period.

Excelent, as usual.
two good etchings: the draftman in front of a coastal landscape by Claude Gellée and the hurdy-gurdy player by Joris van Vliet
